Promote my blog?
While we don’t have any issues with promoting other blogs (we wouldn’t be where we are now, if we hadn’t gotten some help), we are selective about who we promote. No amount of flattery is going to stop us from checking the blog in question (and we thoroughly look it through) and discussing with each other if it’s a blog we feel comfortable promoting. It may sound naive but we do feel a personal responsibility for what we show our followers. And while one could argue that they are mostly adults, or mature enough to make their own decisions, if we feel uncomfortable with a blog, we are not going to tell our followers to check it out. There could be various reasons behind this, and it’s nothing personal. While we wish everyone the best with their blogs, we are not obligated to promote.
The only guideline to ask for promos is that you are a similar blog to us. That doesn’t mean meme, but a helpful or safe place blog. In other words, we will not promote a blog about your love for peanut butter and banana sandwiches (even though they are delicious).
