Since we’ve had an uptake in trolls lately….

I’d like to share a photo with everyone doubting whether or not bipolar disorder is real.

These are scans of the brain of a normal person and the brain of someone with bipolar disorder. Believe it or not, but we can’t fake these. And, believe it or not, but all that red changes things a little. We literally have no control over how our brain works - it doesn’t matter if we were born with the best lives imaginable, or the worst life imaginable. Most of us were born with these imbalances. Few people enjoy their disease - the overwhelming majority of us would trade a limb to be mentally healthy. I know you’re probably too stubbornly ignorant to challenge the way you see our illnesses, but just know this: no matter what you say, it doesn’t change the fact that our illnesses are real. There is nothing you could say to make us stop taking our medication. And you know, a lot of us would probably have a lot more hope for the future if it wasn’t filled with ignorant jerks like you.
